I've devoted my entire professional career to Brush Creek Nursery School and am the current Program Director. I'm a fifth generation Sonoma County resident and a descendant of the Hembree family of Windsor. I'm the middle child of three girls and I am very close to my family. I have two nieces and a nephew that are BC alumnus. All of my family lives close to me. I am married to my husband Kel, and we share our lives with our kitties and chickens!
I began working at BCNS in 1978. I've loved it so much I have stayed here nearly forty years! I attended Village Elementary School, Slater Middle and Montgomery High School. I attended the Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University. I hold a degree in early childhood education.
I currently serve on several Boards and committees. These include the Santa Rosa Junior College Advisory Board to the Child Development Department, member of the Mentor/Director/Teacher Selection Committee and member of the Redwood Empire Auxiliary of Assistance League of Sonoma County.
I believe strongly that children need a structured, exploratory, loving environment to play and learn. Our society puts great demands on children to grow up too soon. I've spent a career encouraging families to let kids be kids!
